Yesterday,  Eric Lahaie who recently joined the Raidlight team, finished 3rd at the Green Power 50km in a time of 3h57min. Eric finished just behind William Davies (3h54) and the winner Darren Benson (3h48min, Champion System Adventure Team).
"Perfect day for racing the cooler weather and overcast skies. Greenpower is one of the fastest trail races in HK because of the fairly flat terrain and a lot of cement. I tried to keep Darren and Will in my sights, but lost them around the mid way point. Then on the long 8k Tai Tam catch water before ShekO road I ran a really good leg and nearly caught Will. But he was just too strong up and over Dragon's Back and down to the finish. Still very happy with 3rd and knocking 1 minute off my pb."
You can check Eric interview here
We cannot expect such fast times for the Lantau50 as much more elevation and less than 10% cement section. We estimate instead that the fastest time should be ~5h30.

According to the map, there will be a short cut (a Bike route) going north (before C1418) to merge Chi Ma Wan Country Trail again before reaching Shap Long Irrigation reservoir, whereas the race route requires runners to go south to Ha Keng. This short cut is before CP4.
Any comment ?

Hi Gordon,
yes, indeed, this is one of the shortcuts. However, we take the participant time at CP3 and CP4, so we can figure out quite easily that something is wrong as it is a massive shortcut.
we have to keep the trail spirit and our first goal is to enjoy running in the nature and challenge our body!

Just a request on the last part of the course. Followed pink ribbons on a recon yesterday all the way to DbAY, but lost the track at Woodland Court in Parkland Village. Went down the stairs at the right side of Woodland Court as I came off the long stairway, but then ended on a street with apartments to the right and a road going to the left. I eventually made it back to the Plaza, but after much wandering. Is anybody able to provide a detailed written description from there to the finish? Would hate to get lost in the last kilometre. And where exactly is the finish? Many thanks.

There are sections that can be marked only on the race day because we are not allowed to post ribbons/arrows before OR people remove them.
But no worries, there will be ribbons in DB from Woodland to the finish as well.
